Ericsson: intends to acquire Ericpol

Ericsson intends to acquire the Polish and Ukrainian operations of Ericpol, a software development company and long-time supplier to Ericsson. Approximately 2,000 employees will join Ericsson in Poland and Ukraine.

Ericsson  has concluded a preliminary share purchase agreement for the acquisition of Ericpol's operations in Poland and Ukraine. Ericpol is a software development company within telecommunications and has been a supplier to Ericsson for over 20 years. Ericsson has been its largest customer by far. In the transformative industry that Ericsson operates in, an opportunity has opened for Ericsson to secure key competence with a deep knowledge about Ericsson built up after many years of collaboration through this acquisition.

Approximately 2,000 employees will join Ericsson. The acquisition is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2016, pending, among other things, customary regulatory approvals. With the intended acquisition of Ericpol's operations in Poland and Ukraine, Ericsson secures well integrated software development competence within radio, cloud and IP to enable business continuity. Ericpol also brings ICT capabilities markets for information communication and industry verticals such as automotive, automation, banking, healthcare and administration.

Ericsson has been present in Poland some 111 years and has continuously developed its operations there over time. This marks yet another step in that evolution and once this acquisition is finalized, Ericsson will have over 2,500 employees in Poland.
