Online retailer Amazon’s cloud computing services unit Amazon Web Services (AWS) will open an office in Espoo, Finland.

Finnish experts are currently being recruited for the new office. AWS also intends to organise training events focussed on technology and services in Finland.

AWS, which was established in 2006, offers cloud computing and analytics services. It is the fastest-growing of Amazon’s units and the world’s largest provider of cloud computing services.

The Finnish office will support companies of all sizes, ranging from startups to major corporations in matters related to the cloud computing environment. The company’s clients in Finland include, among others, Nokia, Supercell, Rovio, F-Secure, DNA, Alma Media, Fonecta and Finnair. AWS opened its first Nordic office in Stockholm in 2014.

The establishment of an office in Finland by AWS is proof that the country offers a rapidly growing clientele and wide-ranging expertise. It will also strengthen our investments to support the use of cloud computing services in all of the Nordic countries. We will now be able to offer a highly reliable and secure platform for an increasing number of Finnish companies to develop business-enhancing innovations,” says Head of AWS Nordics, Darren Mowry.
