On August 27, 2009 the Parliament adopted the draft of a new act on public funding and passed it on to the President for signing. The act aims at strengthening and improving the transparency of public funding which is to be ensured by limiting legal-organisational forms of public funding sector, implementing a long-term financial prognosis in self-governmental units and strengthening internal auditing mechanisms.
