Saab Technologies Poland Sp z.o.o.: has chosen a Polish company to build components for Swedish submarines

22-11-2017

Swedish armament group Saab has announced the signing of an agreement with Polish company Base Group for the supply of components for two A26 submarines built at the Karlskrona shipyard.

Base Group, a Polish company specializing in welded structures, will produce steel mountings and fixtures in which the main propulsion modules of Swedish ships will be located.

The selection of Base Group as a supplier of equipment for A26 submarines came as a result of a comprehensive market survey conducted by Saab among a group of international entities. In pursuit of acquiring appropriate partners for the construction of Swedish submarines, as was the case with the selection of the Nauta Repair Shipyard to build a Swedish Navy warship, Saab evaluates features such as experience and quality of work. Base Group will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of a unique design solution for Swedish A26 ships. The components produced in Poland will be an important part of the Swedish units, based on the concept of modular construction and distributed production.
