DNB Bank Polska SA: DNB Bank Polska aktywnie wspiera pracujących rodziców

8-09-2020

In Poland, there are more and more men taking a two-week paternity leave each year (in the first quarter of 2020, 61.4 thousand men vs. 199.8 thousand in the entire year 2019). Still, only about 1 percent. fathers take parental leave (4.2 thousand men in 2019). DNB Bank Polska, as one of the few companies in Poland, has introduced solutions that support both parents in caring for the child in the first period of his life and make it easier to combine this care with professional work. In practice, this means that men can take advantage of 20-week full-paid parental leave (currently in Poland only women can count on such a long, fully-paid leave). Moreover, parents, until their child turns 18, may shorten the working time by 2 hours while retaining the right to remuneration.

Men are able to use numbers shall are entitled to them after birth of child.

Father's sole right is paternity leave of up to two weeks, which must be used until the child reaches the age of two. Maternity leave may be divided between the parents, provided that the mother uses at least 14 weeks, then the father is entitled to the remaining 6 weeks of leave. Parental leave can also be shared between the parents. However, in no case can a man count on 20 weeks of fully paid maternity and parental leave. That is why DNB Bank Polska offered men a supplementary allowance, thanks to which fathers caring for their children will receive an allowance of 100% for 20 weeks salary.
