The Flügger Group opens production in Gdansk

Less than a year after the building activity was begun, the Flügger Group’s factory for wall coverings in Kokoszki at Gdansk is now operational. Moreover, the building contains central warehouse, technical service and administration.
Official opening takes place Thursday 3 September 2009 with participation of the Danish ambassador in Poland, Hans Michael Kofoed-Hansen.
The Danish owned Flügger Group’s investment in Poland is an important element in a long-term strategy, which among other things concerns Poland as the Group’s centre of activity in Central and Eastern Europe. With this investment Flügger will service existing markets in the North, Poland and China including new markets in Central and Eastern Europe as well as Asia.
December 2008, the Group was promised EU subsidy via ”Innovation Economic Programme” amounting to 23 million PLN.
The wallpaper factory contains new technology, which makes the production of wall coverings both fast and flexible. All new collections will be produced on the two production lines in Gdansk, while the existing collections will continue to be produced on the Group’s factory in Faaborg in Denmark.

The production of wall coverings in Gdansk will start up in spring of 2010.

The central warehouse with 3200 pallet places will become the logistics centre for Central and Eastern Europe. The administrative facilities will contain a new education centre among other things.

With this new building the Flügger Group will reach 175 employees in total in Poland.

Today, the Group has 41 shops in Poland – and the number increases continuously.
