Skanska Property Poland: The first Skanska office building in Katowice already 55% leased

27-01-2014

Silesia Business Park in Katowice already has its first tenant. Skanska Property Poland, the developer of the complex, has signed a lease agreement with the global consultancy PwC. With this contract the first office building, to be put into use in Q4 2014, is already 55% leased.

PwC is a leading multinational professional services firm. In Poland the company runs offices in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Łódź, Poznań and Wrocław. Under the agreement with Skanska Property Poland, PwC Service Delivery Center leased 6,800 sqm at Silesia Business Park for its new office in Katowice. The tenant will move into the complex on ul. Chorzowska in November 2014.

Silesia Business Park is a modern office complex offering a total of 46,000 sqm of office space in 4 buildings. There will be 600 parking spaces available to future tenants in an underground car park and outside.

„We are positive this is the best timing for our first investment in Katowice, where supply of modern office space is now relatively low compared with other cities in Poland. Silesia Business Park has a huge potential, with its interesting design and perfect location. The lease agreement with a renowned company such as PwC is the best reflection of this, and so are our talks with other tenants currently in progress. We intend to develop the complex phase-by-phase, in line with tenant demand,” – said Arkadiusz Rudzki, Leasing and Asset Management Director at Skanska Property Poland.

The attractive location is a huge advantage of Silesia Business Park. The complex is situated within 5 minutes’ drive from the city center, on ulica Chorzowska that connects Katowice with Chorzów, Bytom and Zabrze. The users will find it easy to get to work by public transport and by bicycle. A special parking area for bicycles as well as changing rooms with showers will be available for cyclists. The neighborhood of Silesia City Center also offers plenty of opportunities for shopping and entertainment after work.

The complex was designed and will be developed in line with the principles of sustainable development. Silesia Business Park has been precertified in the LEED system with a Gold rating. The complex was designed by the Medusa Group architectural studio and its general contractor is Skanska S.A. Skanska Property Poland is in charge of commercialization.
