The Szczecin-based BIC-group (consisting of BIC Electric Sp. z o.o. and BIC Switchboards Sp. z o.o.) has sold production capacity and concept to the Danish switchboard manufacturer Eegholm A/S which thereby becomes another Danish investor in West-Pomerania.

At the main office of the BIC-group in Szczecin everyone is content with the acquisition. – We are very proud that a renowned Danish company like Eegholm appreciates the competences in our company, and we are proud that Eegholm has chosen to acquire these competences, which means they can start producing high quality products at competitive prices right away, says Managing Director of BIC Electric, Jens-Chr. Møller.
This way Eegholm can keep focus on its core competences within sales, development and production of switchboards instead of spending management resources on establishing a new production in Poland.
The region of West-Pomerania is popular with Danish investors, especially small and medium-sized companies, because of its proximity to Denmark. –Well spotted Eegholm, the Managing Director continues. –Szczecin is only about 500 km from the Danish border, so this is a perfect location for competent employees and easy access to the rest of Europe.

The BIC-group has been situated in the region for the past four years and will continue to assemble and test switchboards in the production facilities in Szczecin under the name BIC Electric. Furthermore, the company has gained experience and increased its competences especially within installation and mounting of complex industrial facilities and automation plants. The electrical installation company, with its sales office in Denmark, has so far had mostly Danish customers, but has now started to focus more on its home market in Poland, because the Polish economy has not suffered from recession like most other European countries.
