DSV Group Poland: DSV Road focuses on packaged cargo

14-01-2016

In the first half of January DSV Road completed the removal of its branch from Łódź to the new facility at Panattoni Business Center Łódź II. The change of location was dictated by the dynamic development of international and local groupage service and broadening cooperation with one of the key customer of the operator.

The transfer of DSV Road operations to a new facility in Lodz took place in two stages - first, at the beginning of October last year took over 4 000 m2, and the second in January 2016 another 5 000 m2 and offices.

Moving to the new facility is the result of dynamic development of the DSV Road branch in Lódź and the need for fitting technical infrastructure to meet the growing operational and economical requirements. Our new facility meets the high environmental protection’s requirements, which are an important part of the DSV Group's policy. On DSV request the warehouse was equipped with energy-saving LED lighting and thermal insulation with low thermal conductivity.  This storage facility is also our main loading terminal in Poland for international and local road shipments. The reception area has been designed specially for our needs to achieve optimal cross-dock surface- says Maciej Szczepanski, DSV Road Warehouse Operations Director.

Under the newly signed agreement last year the operator took full logistic service over ABB company located in Aleksandrów Łódzki. The specificity of the new location will allow more efficient service to this key client.

The new facility is located near the A1 highway and has nearly 9 000 m2 of warehouse space and 500 m2 of office and social space in a two-storey, modern building located in Niciarniana Street.  New location’s standards ensure the highest warehouse space quality (class A).
