European Commission approved new Polish support scheme for renewable energy with the total budget amounting to PLN 40 billion (€9.4 billion). Under the new support scheme in Poland producers of electricity from renewable sources  may be granted with the State support.  Such investors are selected  by means of competitive auctions to be organised until 30 June 2021. It is worth to mention that this decision is crucial also for investors who won two first auction which took place in December 2016 and June 2017.

Danish Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, who announced the decision, hopes that "The Polish support scheme will increase the share of green energy in Poland's energy mix and help the country's energy transition. It will also preserve the global competitiveness of companies that are heavily energy dependent."
