The tax convention with Finland is in force

3-05-2010

On March 11, 2010 a convention on avoiding double taxation signed in Helsinki on June 8, 2009 by Poland and Finland came into force.

This means coming into force of provisions which will have particular influence on Finnish entrepreneurs acting in Poland and vice versa: on Polish tax-payers who have interests in Finland. The new convention stipulates i.a. that the maximum amount of the tax collected at the source on paid interest equals 5 per cent. The tax on paid dividend amounts to 5 or 15 per cent depending on the legal status of the receiver of the dividend and receiver’s shareholding in the capital of the company paying out the dividend.
