Kinnarps Polska: Royal glow over Kinnarps

26-08-2013

Sweden's Head of State, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia are on an anniversary trip around Sweden to celebrate the King's 40 years on the throne. 21st of August was Kinnarps' turn.

The Royal couple are travelling all over Sweden and visiting all 21 counties during 2013. On the 21st of August it was Västra Götaland's turn to receive the King and Queen. Kinnarps was one of the few selected points of call in the county to be graced with a royal visit.

“This is the first time in Kinnarps' history that we have a visit from Sweden's King and Queen,” says CEO for Kinnarps AB, Per-Arne Andersson. “We are of course both happy and proud to have been selected to show off our business for the Swedish King. Hopefully the royal couple can help to spread the message about how Kinnarps wishes to improve working environments all over Europe.”

The visit began with three of the owners, Henry Jarlsson, Assar Jarlsson and Sibylla Jacobsson, welcoming the Royal couple and the County Governor couple to Kinnarps. This was followed by an introduction to the company, the Next Office – Activity Based Working concept and Kinnarps' efficient manufacturing process.

“As Kinnarps runs an extensive business, it was not an easy task to decide on what to show the Royal couple and the County Governor couple. In the end we decided to display our core activity and that which once upon a time got the business started, our manufacturing facility, as well as our interior design Next Office – Activity Based Working concept,” says Per-Arne Andersson.

Kinnarps' Next Office – Activity Based Working concept has been drawn up to create an activity-based working environment. The concept offers many benefits for instance in terms of ergonomics giving staff access to an entirely different level of mobility compared to what conventional workplaces have to offer. Kinnarps has built a showroom to highlight the entire concept, of which the Royal couple and the County Governor were given a quick tour. The King and Queen and the County Governor couple were then shown how an office chair is manufactured at Kinnarps before it was time for them to say farewell and continue on their countrywide trip.

“We hope our visitors received a positive picture of our company. They are of course always welcome back to Kinnarps if they wish to find out more about how we operate and about the working environments of the future,” concludes Per-Arne Andersson.
