Ceremony of the opening of the Consulate of Iceland in Warsaw was held on the 14 of May. Mr. Bogusław Szemioth became a Honorary Consul. New Honorary Consul was welcomed by Mr. Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson, Icelandic Ambassador to Poland and by Iceland's Minister of Finance, Mr. Bjarni Benediktsson. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Iceland, staying on a working visit in Poland, as well as the Ambassadors of the Scandinavian countries to Poland, representatives of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Icelandic companies operating in Poland.
