Jula Poland Sp. z o.o.: SCANDINAVIAN CHRISTMAS WITH JULA

21-12-2015

Christmas time (Jul) in Sweden is celebrated with great solemnity. The Swedes, like the Poles are paying a lot of attention to traditions, including the Christmas decorations and creating a memorable, joyful mood. However, Scandinavian decorations are a little bit different from Polish ones.

More and more Poles decorate their houses in Scandinavian style. One of the most popular Christmas motives are stars- hanging in the windows, illuminating a room or decorating  a Christmas tree. In various colors and textures they’re shining brightly in Swedish and Polish homes.

In Poland there is an opinion that the Scandinavian style means minimalism and austerity. This rule does not apply to the holidays. Swedes love the joyful and colorful decorations just like we do. Their homes  are dominated by goats, reindeer, funny dwarfs, angels and Santas. Green wreaths from bilberry or pine twigs are often hanging on the front door. Christmas lights have their place on the Christmas tree.  Beside of traditional decorations, Swedes are also willingly following trends - this year for example, as in other countries the owl theme in the Christmas edition has become a very popular decoration.

If you are planning to decorate your house it is worth to visit Jula, where you can find a lot of decorations linking the Polish and Swedish tradition. Everyone in Jula loves Christmas.
