Volvo Polska Sp. z o.o.: Another Swedish city will electrify its public transport fleet with Volvo buses from a Polish factory

Svealandstrafiken - a complaint transport operator in the Swedish city of Västerås, under the use of electrifying its city bus fleet. The company has ordered Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated buses, with an option to purchase power. All payments and purchases from Volvo factories in Wrocław. The first of the new buses will start transporting Västerås residents at the end of summer 2021.

“The fact that Svealandstrafiken and many other Swedes and other customers have chosen our electrified city buses is evidence of confidence in our products and our knowledge of electrification in public transport. Together, we strive to improve the quality of life in terms of its impact on the climate and the environment, ”said Håkan Agnevall, President of Volvo Buses.

Low noise level and no engine vibration make the journey more pleasant for the port, inconvenient for people living near the bus route or stops, easier and less tiring for the boat. "Introducing electric buses" to improve the working conditions of our drivers, confirms Geert Schaap, director of sustainability and innovation at Svealandstrafiken.
The order from Västerås includes Volvo 7900 Electric articulated buses with a capacity of up to 120 files. We have all the original products in Poland at the Volvo factory in Wrocław. The first one will appear on the streets of Västerås in about a year, the next - successively - until July 2022. They will drive in the city center and will be able to drive approx. 200 km between battery charging at depots.

Svealandstrafiken has received an EU grant from the CEF to cover billing costs for cycles powered by buses for electric vehicles.
