DSV Panalpina joins forces with Agility Global Integrated Logistics (GIL)

DSV Panalpina has signed an agreement to take over an organized part of Agility based in Kuwait, providing services in the area of Global Integrated Logistics.

Agility Global Integrated Logistics (GIL) is one of the world's largest providers of freight forwarding and contract logistics services. Provides supply chain solutions for air, sea and road freight forwarding as well as warehousing, distribution and special services as part of project logistics. It employs over 17,000 people and offers services in over 100 countries.

Combination of strengths

DSV recently completed the integration of its largest acquisition to date, the Swiss Panalpina. After the merger, DSV Panalpina and GIL will further strengthen their market position, ranking among the top 3 logistics operators in the world. Together, they will employ over 70,000 employees.

Both Agility GIL and DSV Panalpina are already significant players in the global transport and logistics industry. This connection is another step in strengthening our network both globally and locally. Both companies share a commitment to responsible and sustainable development in transport and logistics, and thanks to similarities in business models, services and strategies, they will become a strong partner thanks to valuable synergy effects.

“Combining our two global networks will enable us to offer our customers an even higher level of service. The global GIL network, industry expertise and strong market position in the APAC region and the Middle East complement the DSV network well and will support our long-term ambition to create value. Our two groups of companies already share a culture of entrepreneurship and local decision-making and we are looking forward to welcoming talented GIL employees to DSV, ”says Jens Bjørn Andersen.

Completion of the acquisition

Mergers and acquisitions are a well-known part of DSV Panalpina's strategy, and the company has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to both attract and successfully integrate companies with similar business models. Provided that the relevant conditions are met and the necessary approvals are obtained, the transaction will close in the third quarter of 2021. Until then, DSV Panalpina and GIL will continue to operate separately and independently.
