20-10-2010

Finnish leading energy company will invest about 1 billion PLN in a new power and heat plant. The location chosen for this new, greenfield investment is Wroclaw.

Shortly after opening modern power and heat plant in Czestochowa, Fortum announced its plans for another big investment. New power and heat plant, fuelled on gas and steam with a heat production capacity of 400 MW will be opened in Wroclaw until 2015. The old heat plant will be replaced as renovation was not considered.
The plant will provide heat and electricity to the inhabitants of Wroclaw. This modern investment will increase the energy efficiency and will support reduction of CO2 emissions, therefore helping to achieve the goals mentioned in the EU Climate Package.
