It is the 5th time when Volvo Poland became the laureate of Polityka’s Silver CSR Leaf. The prize is a result of the research on Corporate Social Responsibility among the biggest Polish companies. 

 
 
Polityka’s Silver CSR Leaf
– are given to the companies, which during their daily operative work declare to keep up with the key solutions of ISO 26000 norm. The companies to do so are using the best local and global practises and are applying international standards. Extremely important element of their management is the ethics management program and the personnel management highest standards.
     

CSR in Volvo Poland

Social business responsibility is a very important factor for Volvo company. It is a commitment to run a company in a responsible way and with sustainable growth in the area of transport solutions. CSR works connect environmental aspects with business ethic, human rights and social issues. They are also supporting organization culture development by promoting diversity.

 

Volvo is one of the biggest worldwide known producer of buses and lorries, which possess a long safety tradition. The company uses in its vehicles many innovative solutions because of which high level of drivers’ and passengers’ security is endured. Despite products development, the company also shares their knowledge by leading the trainings, for example for lorry drivers, which are about improving their skills, what means improving the users of roads security. Company’s employees are engaged in promoting security among children at schools because of Volvo’s campaign Stop Look Wave.

 

The company is also focused on a good natural environmental condition. The example can be produced by Volvo in Wrocław hybrid and hybrid- electric buses, which are meeting the expectations of many Europeans cities. This cities are conducting determined politics to introduce ecological ways of a public transport.

 

Volvo Poland buys 100% of electric energy coming only from renewable raw materials, uses intelligent lights in production halls and leads the ecological campaign, which is promoting separating wastes among company’s employees. In the spring 2016 the company revitalised and shared their new park  ground near to their headquarter In WrocÅ‚aw.

 

To take care of their employers, Volvo Poland is conducting many activities connected with skills improvement, healthy way of living or balance between work and family life. Because of the safety promotion employees are taking part in workshops, which give them possibility to gain skills in the area of the first aid help.

 

The essential part of CSR operation are initiatives for a local society. The company every year is taking part in a charitable action Santa Claus’s Manufactory organized by WrocÅ‚aw redaction of Gazeta Wyborcza. In Volvo Poland also employee voluntary programme exists, which gives them an opportunity  to realize projects for the whole society. From many years employees are engaged in honorary blood donor programme, which is organized by a employer. The company also takes part in social events of RCKiK.

 

The essential part of the social care are the educational projects. Volvo Poland also cooperate with WrocÅ‚aw universities, for example with the WrocÅ‚aw University of Technology and WrocÅ‚aw University of Economics not only in the area of sharing their knowledge but also by sharing their experiences and running didactic programmes. Among students they are showing modern technical solutions and organizational ones realized in Volvo, by inviting the company’s employees to give lectures at the universities or during the recruitment fairs.
