The DSV Group summarizes the first six months of 2017. Just one and a half years after taking over UTi Worldwide, operator productivity and financial results have reached the highest level ever, and DSV's operating profit for the first half increased by 53.1% to 2.3 billion DKK.

The DSV group achieved a turnover of DKK 37.1bn in the first half of this year, up 12.2% from the respective period in the previous year (DKK 32.9bn). This represents a 23.4% increase at DSV Solutions, 11.2% at DSV Air & Sea, and 9.2% at DSV Road.

In the first half of 2017, we recorded a profit increase of over 50%, so we are very satisfied with the results of the Group. In just 18 months since taking over UTi Worldwide, our productivity and financial performance are at the highest level ever. The strong start of the year also allowed us to increase the Group's further forecasts by the end of the year and launch a new DKK billion buyout program, says Jens Bjørn Andersen, CEO of DSV Group.

All DSV divisions show excellent results in the first six months of 2017. Both sea freight (TEU) and air freight (tons) growth was 10% during this period. Road Division has increased its share of most European markets with approximately 5% increase in the number of shipments, while strengthening its road network in North America and South Africa. Just like road transport, the contract logistics market has grown by around 3% in the first half of the year. Division Solutions recorded the highest increase in operating profit.

The first half of 2017 was also a time of dynamic development of the DSV Group in Poland. For Road, this meant primarily sales growth and volumes not only above the market trend, but also above average results for the entire Group. In the first six months, we recorded an 18.9% increase in revenue from the analogous period of the previous year, and an increase in the number of consignments amounted to nearly 16%, summarizes Filip Czerwiński, President of DSV Road in Poland.
