Winter months in Poland are a time when the media are alarming about the ever-increasing concentration of smog in the air. Therefore, in December 2017, the PC World magazine conducted a comparative test of air purifiers. Seven devices from six key manufacturers of household appliances were tested in the study. The EAP 450 from Electrolux was awarded in the Best Performance category.

Performance tests of air purifiers were made using the Benetech GM8803 meter. The measurements took into account the presence of harmful particulate matter PM10 and PM2.5 in the air. The tests were carried out under reproducible conditions with concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 particles in the air oscillating around 80 μg / m3.

Each equipment was assessed in several categories: housing, equipment, performance, as well as profitability. The PC World editors recognized the Electrolux EAP 450 purifier as the most efficient device in the test, perfectly coping with air purification in objects with an area close to the maximum declared in the specification. Electrolux EAP450 will filter as much as 494m3 of air within one hour of operation. Such a model ideally suited to a room with an area up to 103m2.

The attention of the jury was drawn by the light sensor installed in the device, whose task is to maintain silence during sleep of household members. Editors also appreciated the washable filters, whose lifetime has been extended to 12 months. The tested model uses HEPA filters that have been approved by leading organizations: the Swedish Society for Combating Asthma and Allergy and the British Allergy Foundation (BAF).

Air purifiers are a useful solution not only in the period of increased air pollution with harmful particles. They are also a device that comes to the help of people struggling with allergies and asthma. There are currently many types and models available on the market. When choosing a device for the home, it is worth paying attention to the parameters of the equipment. Thanks to this, you can be sure that the purifier will provide you with clean air in the home in the shortest possible time.
