Ericsson is accelerating 5G in Europe by investing in production in Tczew

Ericsson announced the decision to invest in Tczew for the production of groundbreaking mobile technology solutions. The production of radio transmission devices, including for 5G, began in the second quarter of 2019, while the production of radio transmission devices began in the third quarter of 2019. Ericsson and its production partner in Tczew are planning full production for the European market in the first quarter of 2020. The factory in Tczew will fully service the European market.

Two thousand R&D engineers working in Łódź and Krakow and new production means an increase in total investment in Poland.

To facilitate the rapid implementation of 5G in Europe, Ericsson has chosen a strategic production partner that will increase 5G production. This complements Ericsson's existing European manufacturing facility in Estonia and is part of Ericsson's global supply chain, ensuring that the company works closely with customers, ensuring fast and efficient deliveries to meet customer requirements. The proximity of production and customers will also help keep CO2 emissions down due to lower transport demand.

Ericsson employs over 35,000 employees in Europe, working in 21 locations, including 14,000 engineers responsible for research and development activities.
